From the NYT yesterday. It would be interesting to plot the estimated value of PTP downloads on this chart as well. I hadn't realized how dominant pre-recorded cassettes became in the 80's; I always avoided them because both the sound quality and physical durability seemed much poorer to me. I would buy the LP, play it once to make sure it was good and clean the grooves, then record it on a TDK 90-minute blank. Normally, I could get a full album on each side of the tape. So many of my records had only been played a couple of times.
